These words are from a care home resident who has recently been matched with one of our volunteer befrienders. Sadly this is so often the case, with research showing that care home residents are twice as likely to feel severely lonely as older people living at home.
It's Loneliness Awareness Week and we're running a giving campaign to enable more older care home residents to experience companionship, hope and joy. You can make a massive impact in enabling more connection for residents, however much you can give. You can make a direct donation, or support us in so many other ways - from tax efficient Payroll Giving, supporting us via your business, leaving us a legacy, giving in memory of a loved one, or fundraising for us. Please follow the button below for full details about all these options. Last year, 275 care home residents and informal carers benefitted from our projects. Please give now if you can and help bring companionship and support to even more residents. |
